Why is the world in turmoil?

Why—no matter how much progress
humanity makes—are there always people
in every generation who will kill, steal and
destroy?

What is wrong with the world?

Jesus’ answer to our question:
“Whoever sins is a slave to sin.”

The greatest problem facing humanity is every individual’s

Imagine if a society could live free from the things God
calls sin.
試想一下，如果一個社會能夠活在免於神所谓罪的事。
Such a society is not possible from the outside-in, but Jesus
says it is possible from the ________________.
這樣的社會是不可能從外到內的，但耶穌
說，這可能從________________。
Christ came into this world to bring that Kingdom and give
that freedom. Here’s how it happens.
基督來到這世界帶來的那種國度，並給予那種自由。

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to
my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know
the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31,32
耶穌對信他的猶太人說、你們若常常遵守我的道、就真是我的門徒。
你們必曉得真理、真理必叫你們得以自由。

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

1. In John 8:31-36, Jesus describes the freedom all
humans long for and many never experience. Take
a moment to read those verses aloud. What do
you think of this freedom from your own individual
propensities toward sin? Have you experienced it?

4. We have the message the world most needs—that
freedom is available for all, through Christ. Where
the world around us is unsettled and broken, how
often do you connect that brokenness to humanity’s
need to be set free from sin?
